Flow is an in-depth look into the phenomenon of ‘optimal experience’: when you lose yourself in a task that engages your skills. One can systematically induce flow by finding tasks that are challenging and provide constant feedback, yet ones that aren’t out of your depth. An interesting point from the author is that people experience flow much more frequently at work than at home, but are loath to admit that they are more content at work despite evidence to the contrary.

The book itself is very well researched, but I would have appreciated a slightly less academic approach - some parts are a little bit dry, and I think overall it could have been cut down by a third.
